Old chums Fry and Laurie were pitted against one another in the ratings stakes last night (Friday night that is).

At 10pm, the second episode of the new series of Absolute Power kicked off - pitting Stephen Fry against his old comedy partner Hugh Laurie on Five.

The title of Fry's seemed somewhat inflated, as Hugh's hit US medical sitcom, House, proved the victor.

The previous week, Fry had been the winner.

Last night, House won an audience of 1.8 million, while BBC2's satire on spin doctors drew 1.7 million - down 200,000 on last week.
